More activity from our very busy 3rd District - August 4 is Legislative Action Day. This is a chance for 3rd District Activists to meet with their representatives.
If anyone is interested, please use the contact information below to send an email to Dare GOP, so we may give a headcount to our 3rd District Chair, Dave Wickersham.
Everyone will be responsible for their own transportation; meet up with others will be at 12:00 noon in the legislative building cafeteria. Below is the rest of the itinerary:
ITINERARY:
12:00 PM – Meet up/Lunch in Legislative Building Cafeteria (Located in the basement)
1:00 PM – Meeting with District 3 House & Senate members (1027 LB)
2:00 PM – Pictures on Senate floor
2:30 PM – Tour of Legislature (Meet at Jones Street entrance lobby in front of red staircase)
3:15 PM – Free time (would be best to stay in the building)
4:00 PM – Senate Session (Sit in gallery; access is on 3rd floor)
RECOMMENDATIONS:
If arriving early to Raleigh, there are two North Carolina museums directly across from the Jones Street entrance to the General Assembly.

If you would like to have dinner in Raleigh before heading home, here are some sit-down restaurant recommendations:

Upon arrival, you will have to go through security, much like airport security.
No food or drink allowed
Know that your bags may be looked through
Itinerary is subject to change, based on legislative schedule (this can change day before or day of), so be prepared to communicate with entire group quickly via text or otherwise.
Entire delegation has been invited to 1-2 PM meeting but know that some members may have a tight schedule and will only be able to stop by or stay for a part of the meeting. Be prepared to present your legislative concerns in a short amount of time (see Legislative Goals on page 1). Water and coffee will be provided in this meeting.
Paid Public Parking is available in Visitor’s Lot #1 on the corner of Jones St and Wilmington St. Jones is a one-way street, so cross Wilmington and turn right into the parking lot. After parking, cross back over Wilmington St and you will be at the Legislative Building.
