Are you prepared to give up your town or county sovereignty?

According to a recent poll conducted by CarolinaForward.org some citizens are prepared to sacrifice their towns/county's sovereign rights for self determination in the context of zoning/development and turn those decisions over to the state in the interest of obtaining "affordable" housing. Does this have anything to do with the the AFFHA of the Obama era? Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Act (AFFHA) is a program that is designed to subjugate everyone to the Federal bureaucrats and their decisions regarding what your community should look like. According to a recent article in the Outer Banks Voice and its referenced poll conducted by CarolinaForward.org, we Carolinians are prepared to simply have NC state decision makers rule over our towns and counties in order to obtain more affordable housing. Really? If that is the case, we live in the wrong state. Yes, there is an issue with respect to housing on the Outer Banks. Hey! Nags Head is working towards building a brand new Events Center that if completed will only exacerbate the issue of the lack of potential employees due to lack of housing. Seems there is some more thinking that needs to be done in terms of land use; but shouldn't that be up to the County Commissioners and the town of Nags Head to ponder? Is the Outer Banks Voice an unbiased publication? Is CarolinaForward.org an unbiased organization? Is the abdication of decision making in terms of zoning and land use to the state surrender to the AFFHA? These questions should be pondered and answers obtained.
